How I’m Building The Glam Athlete — And Why I Think Grit Is the New Glam

I’m not a born athlete.
And I definitely didn’t grow up dreaming about ballroom shoes, magnesium soaks, or visualization rituals. But here we are.
A few years ago, I was running a business in the Philippines and figuring out how to recover from burnout, overthinking, and too much caffeine. Then came the big move to the U.S., my discovery of ballroom dance (Standard & Smooth!), and slowly—this brand started to form in my mind.
It wasn’t just about performance. It was about presence.
I wanted to feel like me—but clearer. Stronger. More in sync with my body and mind.
Where Glam Meets Grit
For me, glam isn’t lashes or lipstick (though I won’t lie, I keep a few staples in my dance bag). It’s about the glow that comes from good rituals.
- Magnesium before bed (I like Moon Juice’s Magnesi-Om).
- Brushing my dance shoes while saying thank you to them (something a world champ once told me).
- A mini gua sha session before competition makeup.
- Visualization—seeing the whole comp go right before I even step on the floor.
Glam is posture, breath, intention.
Glam is grace after three rounds and a foot cramp.
Glam is washing your makeup brushes the day after competition as a ritual of care, not obligation.
Who’s This For?
If you’ve ever…
- Felt like wellness didn’t see you—as a dancer, a builder, or a high-performer
- Wanted fitness advice that doesn’t feel like punishment
- Been curious how others handle cramps, competitions, or showing up when you don’t feel like it
- Googled “what to eat on your period when you still have to perform” and found nothing helpful
- Cared about your glow just as much as your grit
...then you’re home.
What to Expect
The Glam Athlete is part blog, part diary, part ritual book. It’s where I share:
- How I train, recover, and prep for competitions
- Skin routines for active women (sweat-proof but gentle!)
- Cycle-based dance & training tips
- My real rituals before and after comps (epsom baths, snacks, meditations, the works)
- Mental training when things don’t go to plan
- The moments I’m still learning to carry myself like a queen—even when I don’t feel like one
TL;DR
This is for women who:
- Glow from the inside out
- Are building something—whether it’s a body, a business, or both
- Want luxury in their wellness—but not the fussy kind
- Need strength, softness, and strategies that work in real life
Thanks for being here.
Let’s build something that feels like us: clear, strong, radiant, and a little bit sparkly.
